A Shameless Plug for Abilene Christian Schools
The following is an article that was in the Abilene Reporter News on Friday, July 20th:
New ACS president 'loves Christian education'

An Abilene Christian University graduate will be Abilene Christian Schools' new president and chief executive officer.
Craig Fisher, who previously served as elementary principal of Southwest Christian School in Fort Worth, started his new job earlier this month. Abilene Christian Schools teaches students through 12th grade.
Fisher has 14 years of experience as a teacher and administrator, certified in special education.
Fisher graduated from ACU in 1992 with a business degree and started substitute teaching to make some extra money.
''I loved that environment,'' he said. ''I loved being part of something that helped kids grow and learn.''
Soon, he had fallen in love with teaching, gravitating toward school administration.
He taught in the Keller Independent School District for four years, where he also served as assistant principal.
In 1999, he earned a master's degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas and joined Southwest Christian School.
A Christian education brings students ''powerful tools'' that can be tapped in the future, he said.
Abilene Christian Schools impressed him because of its strong history and a core group there that ''loves Christian education,'' he said. ''They fuse biblical principles with everything they teach.''
Fisher is married to Beth Ann Fisher, an early childhood teacher. The couple has two boys, ages 7 and 3.
According to a press release from Abilene Christian Schools, Fisher has a history of leadership and participation in numerous educational and civic organizations, including appointment by the Benbrook City Council to its park and recreation board.
ACU recently invited him to serve a term on its alumni advisory board.
Kay Robbins served as interim president for Abilene Christian School after former president/CEO Bill Brant joined Herald of Truth Ministries in Abilene as its president and chief executive officer.
Darryl Jinkerson, chairman of the department of management sciences at ACU, led the committee that searched for a new ACS president.
Fisher is ''young, energetic and charismatic,'' Jinkerson said. ''I think he'll make a great president.''

Great article.
Listen, BST, Dog and I were wondering if we could come to the meet the president reception. Maybe tell some stories, field a few questions...whatever. Kind of mingle with your new peeps, blend the old and the new, that sort of thing. Let me know what you think about that.
Seriously, we are very proud of you and excited about this new adventure. You are constantly in our prayers.

Remember, that's my alma mater (Class of '88). I'm just glad they changed the name from North Judge Ely Reform School.
