Small Groups

Our Small Group from church came over last night. It is such a blessing to get together with Christian families. Seeing the kids run around and play puts smiles on all of the adults faces. Watching them play on the swingset and make Valentines was a blessing to us all. We can hardly contain Riley's excitement when he knows our Care Group friends are coming over.

These meetings allow us to keep each other updated on what is going on in our lives. We are able to spend time in prayer, lifting our struggles and praise to God. We can draw strength from each other. We have read books and studies them together. We have taken books from the Bible and studied them. We have tried to help each other be better husbands and wives. We are lucky to have such a great Care Group. Our prayer is that we can strengthen and deepen our relationships with God and each other.

Today is a day of survival at school. It is Valentine's Day, which means parties and lots of sugar. How did this day get started anyway?

The principal joke for today: What did the lady say when dropped her film off to be developed?

Answer: Someday my prints will come.

Have a Happy Sugar Day.

I'm sick in bed today--but Sheryl still brought me a Cherry Lime Slush. She knows the key to my heart. Happy V Day, guys!

The longer I live (42 a week from tomorrow) the more I'm convinced that the institutional church has often (not always for sure!) missed the point: Loving God & loving people.

Small Groups are a path back to what Jesus says is most important. Many churches have had this (not small groups, but I'm talking about an emphasis on love & relationships) for years. Others haven't.

    Glad you guys have it.
