The Superbowl
Like many people across the world last night, we watched the Superbowl. For any average sports fan the Superbowl is a pretty big event. I am a sports enthusiast and enjoy the day of the big game. It is usually a time to debate, get excited about big plays and hard hits, eat lots of food and hang out with friends and family. We did just that last night. The Baileys came over to our house for a Superbowl get-together. Riley and Rainey were able to play. They both look forward to our families being together. Owen played for a while and then turned in early. The adults ate, watched, redirected the kids and ate. Fun times.
The Superbowl has a bit more of an emotional touch on me than it does to other sports fans. The Superbowl was the first date that Beth Ann and I had. Fourteen years ago we celebrated our first date together (very romantic, if I must say so myself). We watched the Bills and Giants battle on the field. We watched the game at the duplex on Westheimer. We did actually clean the batchelor pad a bit since girls were coming over (or maybe it was Karen who helped clean the place). Stephen had a date come over as well (no telling who Stephen was scamming on at the time). I dropped Beth Ann off at a Bible study afterwards and she immediately went in to tinkle since she was afraid to do that at my duplex (she did not want us to hear her). We did have fun and she actually wanted to go on another date.
How blessed I am. To have those memories and still have Beth Ann on my arm and by my side. Each year we can watch the Superbowl and remember that first date. I thought she was cute then, and now I think she is the most beautiful woman in the world. She is the love of my life, the amazing mother of my two boys, my best friend. I am glad that the Patriots won. I am even more glad that I won and that Beth Ann is my wife.

Nice comment about the tinkling... Why would you have heard her? Thin walls, or was there some problem?
On a more serious note, glad to know the Superbowl holds such significance, glad to know you are (like me) aware how far above your head you married!

Brother--you are one lucky man. I knew it then and it's never changed. We are all so thankful BA took you on as her special project. You guys are such a great pair!
