A Divine Appointment
Friday night was a great experience. God was so powerful at orchestrating the events to allow for my experience. It was definitely a divine appointment.
Our men's retreat was this past weekend. I was wishy-washy on whether I was going to attend. I had family coming into town and we had tickets to the Globetrotters on Saturday morning. I received an email from a friend's wife distraught over her husband's sadness. I called him and we ended up driving to Denton for the Friday night session. We got to talk and laugh some on the drive there. We gathered with some other guys from our class and experienced an incredible hour or so of praise. 400 men worshipping together can be so powerful! Buddy Bell, from Montgomery, Alabama, was our speaker. He is a man on fire for God. Great things are happening at Landmark Church of Christ. He spoke for a while and then we had some small group prayer time. I was able to spend some time with a group of guys sharing and learning.
After the group time I went and spent about an hour with two friends in prayer. My friend was able to cry out to God. He was able to share, to confess, to be prayed over and to feel God's love for him.
A feeling of peace rushed over me while I was with my two friends. It was 12:30 at night and I was sitting in a car facing some lake I'd never seen before. God did not want me anywhere else. He made sure that I was there so I could be a source of encouragement to my friend and that I could be with HIM. To feel God's movement and plan for me is overwhelming.
Thank you God for being in control. Thank you for making a divine appointment for me.
