Family Camp is Here

We are leaving today for Colorado. Family Camp starts on Friday. I am excited but nervous. We want this to be a week for people that is memorable. We are praying God's blessings over camp, the flow of activities, the presence of the Spirit, for fun, for organization. Please join me in that prayer. The theme is Jesus Inside. We want there to be a deeper understanding of why Jesus said what he said and we He lead the way He lead. We want to learn more about His heart so we can learn more about our hearts.

The car is packed. The plans are in place. Colorado here we come.

A Few Things

I took Riley to his first race last weekend. He told me a fulfilled a lifelong dream he has had his whole life!

When eye doctors put their working hours on their doors, they really don't mean it.

Today will be a great day because it is free Hot Dog on a Stick Day. From 5:00-9:00 tonight at Hulen Mall the Hot Dog on a Stick store will be giving one free corn dog to each customer.

It makes me laugh when people think that principals get the entire summer off.

When are in the final planning days for Family Camp 2006. Jesus Inside.

Is it o.k. for guys to say, "Calgon take me away?" I am there.

Owen now calls me Daddy Craig Fisher. That makes me laugh.

I miss Jack Bauer.

Mix and Match

One of my favorite things is chips and hot sauce. There will be times I get a hankering for some chips and salsa and I can be completely distracted until the need is met. As we were enjoying a trip to Chili's last week, it got me to thinking about this some.

I love the chips and salsa at Chili's. We always start our meal with the appetizer. I also love chips and salsa from many other places. Do I love the combination that the restaurant has developed? Would a chip from Joe T's be good with the salsa from Chili's? Would dipping a chip from On the Border be good with salsa from Mi Cocina?

The same question can be applied to chicken nuggets and barbecue sauce. Chick-fil-a chicken with barbecue sauce from McDonald's. Good or not?

There are many more important things to ponder in life but this is one I have thought about recently. Please advise with any thoughts.

A Great Leader

We begin a new era today. Scott and his family left town this morning for Georgia. They came over for one last time together last night. It was a strange feeling to tell him goodbye. We start today without him as our President.

Scott was an excellent leader to work with while he was at SCS. He challenged people. He was supportive. He wanted to have fun. He pushed us to strive for excellence. I learned much from Scott and I worked with him. He helped SCS in so many ways. Blessings.

I wish Scott and his family the best. I pray his ministry at Mount Pisgah will be Christ-focused.
