Mix and Match
One of my favorite things is chips and hot sauce. There will be times I get a hankering for some chips and salsa and I can be completely distracted until the need is met. As we were enjoying a trip to Chili's last week, it got me to thinking about this some.
I love the chips and salsa at Chili's. We always start our meal with the appetizer. I also love chips and salsa from many other places. Do I love the combination that the restaurant has developed? Would a chip from Joe T's be good with the salsa from Chili's? Would dipping a chip from On the Border be good with salsa from Mi Cocina?
The same question can be applied to chicken nuggets and barbecue sauce. Chick-fil-a chicken with barbecue sauce from McDonald's. Good or not?
There are many more important things to ponder in life but this is one I have thought about recently. Please advise with any thoughts.

Hello Craig,
First, I have yet to hear from you about what the life altering illness you had that incapacitated you. Are you better? I guess so, or we wouldn't be hear about chips and salsa. Second, the question is not about chips and salsa about as much as best chips and salsa. Correct? I think there is no better light, crispy chip than that at Abuelo's. Any kind of salsa that sits upon that chip is inconsequential. But that's my take on it... your mileage may vary!

Love the fresh, warm chips at El Rancho Grande on the Northside of Fort Worth. In that case, the chip makes the salsa. However, I can stomach bad chips if the salsa is great. Hmmmm...this is an interesting question. I'll need some more time for research. What are you doing for lunch?

I concur about the Chili's chips and salsa. They have the very best. I know; I have researched all other places and found them wanting. Miss Judy

This is like when I was a kid and Space Ghost appeared on an episode of the Star Trek cartoon, talking with Captain Kirk and Spock. Odd.
I'd go for the green salsa at Caro's and the tortillas at Uncle Julio's.

Craig, you're killing Suzi and I. Unfortunately, Colorado has not a clue about a good chip or salsa...seriously. The best thing we have going here is On The Border, only because it actually resembles Tex-Mex. So, for the love, please stop talking about Joe T's, Mi Cocina, Abuelo's, and El Rancho Grande. God Bless Texas!
