Richard

We had a scary moment on the way to church yesterday.

As we were cruising along 820, trying to make it to church on time, I noticed the cars in front of me slamming on their brakes. I changed lanes and slowed down. I passed the car causing all the commotion and you could clearly tell something was wrong. In the car was a man by himself and his car was moving towards the guardrail. We pulled over as did the car that was in front of us. As we ran to see if we could help the man's car hit the guardrail and stopped. One lady got on the phone with 911. When we got to his car we saw that he was having a seizure. We tried to give any help we could but were not completely sure what to do.

As we waited for support to come he became agitated but could not speak. He was grunting and trying to get out of the car. We held him in the car until the medics arrived.

I was thankful that others stopped to help. I was not surprised that one idiot honked at us.

We did find that his name was Richard. I think we should all pray for Richard today.

That was me who honked. I was late for church and had no time for people having seizures in their cars. You see I'm in charge of making the coffee for my Sunday School class, so I needed to get there and serve...

Seriously, I wonder if the honker was on his/her way to church. That's the way Jesus told a similar story. Thanks for caring enough to stop. I'll pray for Richard today.

Did you give him a salute as he drove by? Just kidding. Way to be a source of light.

Good for you. Maybe someone had a "Honk if you love Jeuss" bumper sticker?
