Holy

I love it when I learn a lesson from a two-year-old...

Last weekend we were enjoying some family time at home. We were trying to take advantage of a day where we can just hang around the house. Riley and I ran a few errands and later in the day Beth Ann and Owen got out for a few minutes. When they got back home, the boys were playing around the house, I was in the office and Beth Ann was in the kitchen. Owen was walking from room to room checking on everybody and playing. He was singing a song over and over again. He was singing, "and we cry Holy, Holy Holy". He was singing it at the dinner table, while playing on his beep-beep, while holding his blanket, while following his brother everywhere. He was in worship to God while doing everything. I found comfort in hearing a two-year-old worshipping in that way.

I wish I could be in constant worship when I am playing, paying bills, driving and working. Sometimes I am and sometimes I am not. I wish I could be. I wish it could be as simple as Owen makes it.

How often we get caught up in ourselves and the things that WE need to do and forget the simple pleasure of turning it all over to God and worshipping Him. No wonder Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure." (Matt 11:25-26). Thank you, Craig, for giving us a poignant reminder and for sharing God's good pleasure with us through your son.

What was the good one he had on New Year's Day? Some change on Mercy, wasn't it?

Danny - that one was Riley thinking we were singing "Lord have birdseed" instead of "Lord have mercy".

Isn't it great to hear your kids singing like that? Such innocence. It is wonderful to know that is on their hearts. I remember Braden singing "Glorify Thy Name" at full voice from the back pew of church when he was about 2 years old. This man in front of us was completely loving it, turning around and raising his hands. It was awesome.
