Saved By The Bell

Sing along with me:

Well, I wake up in the morning,
And the 'larm gives out a warning,
And I don't think I'll ever make it on time.

By the time I grab my books,
And I give myself a look,
I'm at the corner, just in time to see the bus fly by.

It's all right 'cos I'm Saved by the Bell.

If the teacher pops a test,
I know I'm in a mess,
And my dog ate all my homework last night.

Riding low in my chair,
She won't know that I'm there,
If I can hand it in tomorrow it'll be all right.

It's all right 'cos I'm Saved by the Bell.

It is time to pay the proper respect to the greatness of Saved by the Bell. That theme song brings back floods of memories. Watching Zack and Kelly struggle through relationship issues. Living with Jessie through getting addicted to caffeine pills. Observing Slater grow to become a great wrestler. Painfully watching Screech chase after his first love, Lisa. The lessons they taught and the values we all learned from this wonderful half hour piece of art helped to mold our generation. I remember watching this show with my roommates in college and hearing the theme song on each Saturday morning during the T-NBC times.

I was also impacted by Mr. Belding. His principalship at Bayside was strong and focused. He has paved the way for me in my career. I thank him for his funny jokes, his speeches, his discipline.

It was such a blessing to experience the growth of Zack and Kelly through high school and into college. To be with them at their wedding in Hawaii was beautiful. Love stood strong as they overcame the odds.

Thanks goes to Saved by the Bell for helping us all learn and grow together. Each day will be all right... 'cos I'm Saved by the Bell.

What can I say? The education I received from that show and the many enlightening discussions with my roomies that followed each episode taught me more than any class I took at ACU.

You are the latter-day Mr. Belding and I'm proud of you for that. I'm just thankful that neither of your boys was born in a stuck elevator like Mr. B.'s baby.

As a side note, I'm so proud that both Zack (NYPD) and Slater (bicycle cop) went into law enforcement. It helps ease the pain of what happened to Kelly (after the boob job she really became a evil witch) and Jessie (topless dancer). It just goes to show that all you can do is love them and then you have to let them go and allow them to make their own decisions.

And I thought that you patterned your principalship after Ed Rooney of "Feris Buhler's Day Off" fame.

Hey Fish, I think that BST has a theme in his comments. Please go see him in Nashville so he can move on.

On another note, I too was highly diappointed when Kelly decided to change her name and the move to Beverly Hills, 90210. She became quite the really hot, devious, manipulating chick.

Glad I came across your blog...
