Maybe I am a little weird

Let me start by saying that I would have rather had my family with me. My trip to Florida would have been much more fulfilling and fun. We will go soon. Disney has hooked me to take the family and experience the magic.

I did have to attend a conference in Orlando by myself. I wanted to make the best of it. I did get to connect with friends from all over the country. I was able to learn and hear some wonderful presentations.

I did find being by myself to be interesting. I was a long way from home. During the conference sessions I was around people I either knew or was familiar with. During breaks or at the end of the day I would go walk around Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk by myself. It was fun to be where I knew no one. I could walk at my pace. I could people watch. I could think and be quiet. I do enjoy some quiet time to myself each day. I am a people person but need some time to be alone. being forced to attend a conference alone can be something I can take advantage of. I love walking around and finding my family souvenirs. I love planning and thinking about bringing them to certain places. I love to search out neat things to experience. I think I get that from my dad.

Is it strange to enjoy walking around a place and being completely anonymous? I may be a little weird.

That sounds great to me! Proving of course that yes, you are weird.

You are strange, but it is not strange to enjoy being alone. It is quite healthy, actually.

Both introversion and extraversion are healthy personality types. Extraverts are drawn naturally towards the outer world and will do things in the outer world to relax, exessive concentration in quiet, often tiring and boring them. Introverts take the opposite approach. They are drawn towards inner reflection and often have excellent powers of concentration, but are also drained by being with large groups of people for long periods of time. It is completely healthy for introverts to need time off when at gatherings with a lot of people, especially if they are already tired.
