Walking in Memphis #1

For spring break we went with my parents to Memphis for the week. We had a great time and my next few posts will be focused on some highlights from our trip.

One of the most important things to do when we go to Memphis is to eat some great barbecue. The kind of barbecue that I was raised on the kind we have in Texas are vastly different. They are both good but for me nothing compares to Memphis style barbecue. We were able to go to my favorite restaurant while we were there. Beth Ann and I ate there twice. There is nothing like Corky's. It was awesome. We even had dinner there on my parents' anniversary. The best dry ribs in the world. Great food, great service, good times.

Other highlights from the trip to come...

Corky's is great barbecue! My dad used to travel in his job, and whenever he went through Tennessee, he would bring us back some Corky's. Good stuff!

But, being a 3rd generation native Houstonian, I must say that there is nothing like a good barbecued brisket. LOL--no one here in Alabama knew what brisket was when I moved here. ; )

My husband Bryan Cooper would be soooo jealous. He has 4 videos of friend trips to Memphis. He loves it. He would love to go back. Maybe we will have to go again soon. Barbeque. . . yummm I am hungry. Glad your blog is back. Amy
