The Good Stuff

During this difficult time for the Gulf Coast region we are continually hearing the negative things associated with the disaster. There is important information that needs to be shared but there is more that I want to hear and more that needs to be shared.

I love seeing and experiencing the incredible volunteers at North Davis Church of Christ in Arlington. When 200 evacuees began showing up there were many volunteers ready to help in any way. People like Scott and Debbie Souder and Doug Peters were there and gave many hours to assist in any way they could. Danny Sims, Bobby Moore, Robert Bullock and Scooter Cox from Altamesa that were involved with evacuees that had been brought to Ft. Worth. The stories of reunions and happiness are what keep people going right now.

I am thankful for the servants in this area. I am glad I know some of the great things that have gone on around here. I look forward to hearing more. Maybe the news will share some of these things as well.

Tough times, but there are a lot of good stories. It's nice to hear positive things on the news about Jesus followers for a change. Let's hope this horrible situation opens our eyes to the needy who are around us everyday.
BTW, I'm glad you guys are safe. I know you live a lot closer to the coast than we do.
