Family Camp 2008
We spent last week in Estes Park, CO. Every other year our family goes to Family Camp at the YMCA of the Rockies. We had a great time and enjoyed the amazing summer Colorado weather. Our resource person was Rich Little from Naperville Church of Christ in Chicago. He was an inspirational, forward thinker. He connected well with the group, challenged us, and called us to find ways to connect others with Christ. I hope to get to talk with Rich or hear him speak again.
The boys got to hang with family and friends, climb rocks, build things and enjoy the mountains.
We spent some time in Winter Park, CO and Manitou Springs, CO as well. The boys got to do an Alpine slide for the first time and played in an old-fashioned arcade where the games cost a nickel, dime or quarter. We also made a stop in Denver for dinner at Casa Bonita. A great experience for kids. We had dinner in Colorado Springs one night at a restaurant in a KC-97, which is the exact plane that Beth Ann's dad worked on and flew on when he was in the military. Papa shared stories and experiences that were truly awesome to hear.
The following are some pictures from our trip:

The family in front of the largest Dairy Queen ice cream cone ever, in Raton, NM.

The boys and I hanging out in Manitou Springs, CO.

The first thing the boys did when they got out of the car at camp was to climb this rock. We have pictures of Beth Ann when she was 4 climbing this same rock.

Posing by the new YMCA bronze statue.

Beth Ann trying to win the bubble blowing contest.

Me, winning the burping contest at Wacky Olympics.

Beth Ann competing in the Wacky Olympics.

Our Hayride to go and roast marshmallows.

Owen watching the cowboy play a counting game.

The boys playing Musical Chairs on Square Dance night.

BA and Owen on the last day of camp.

BA and Riley at 12,005 feet.

Playing in the snow on July 4th.

Our great friends, The Myers and The Fulks.

The top of the Rocky Mountain National Park.

At Casa Bonita with Nana and Papa.

At Solo's Restaurant with Papa. We ate inside the KC-97.

WOW! Your pictures brought back wonderful memories of year before last when we were with you. So happy to see all of your smiling faces having so much fun! We remembered, on July 4, how very cold it was on that mountain..... while we were so hot here in good ole Texas!
Love, Darlin'

Good to catch up with you yesterday. Love these pictures. I'm sure your family is so proud of your belching prowess. I know mine is proud of my...special skills. We didn't even talk about the house selling. How exciting! See you next week.

Craig... wow, bro, how long has it been? I just got back from my 20 year high school reunion, was feeling nostalgic, and tried to track down some "old" friends. I was pumped to find your blog... how are things going?? Shoot me an email (carter@libertychurch.net) and let me know what's going on in your life. And say hi to Beth Ann from Paige and me.

OMG! Check out that poor little girls face as she watches you in the burping contest. Hey, is that legal???? I thought you were a professional burper and couldn't enter an amature event. Lisa

OMG! Check out the look at that poor little girl's face as she watches you in the burping contest. Hey, are you breaking the rules being in that contest? After all, you are a professional burper! Lisa
