The Roomies

Last weekend my wife tried to surprise me with inviting my college roommates and their families to our house for a little fun and fellowship. I do have a 5-year-old and secrets are hard to keep. Chris Doggett, his wife and three kids made the trek to Benbrook all the way from Frisco. Stephen Bailey, his wife and daughter came from Hurst. The only thing that would have made the day even better was if Brandon Scott Thomas, his wife and three kids could have been here.

We were able to be together for a few hours. Our kids played, we laughed, shared stories and just enjoyed the company. I am so blessed to have moments like that with people that are so special to my family. Life is crazy for all of us right now, but moments like last Saturday make me thirst for more. I look forward to more of those kind of days.

Beth Ann, thank you for organizing some time with my roomies. I love you.

Chris and Stephen, thank you for coming and bringing your families. It was a blessed day.

Brandon, I so wished you and your family could have been here. I can't wait to hang out with you soon.

I hope anyone that reads this post has special friend relationships like I do.

Have a great day.

Did you take Chris up to your office to see the bunny?

We enjoyed it too Fish. As kids grow and schedules get even busier, we need to always make time for days like Saturday.

Well, we know one way that can happen... COME TO NASHVILLE.

It made me sick to my stomach to hear all of you on the phone laughing and having so much fun without me. I hated to miss it. Happy birthday, you August beauty.

It was a great time. Not many can say that they have buddies that they can call brothers.......that is a gift. I think one of the most amazing things is that we could probably all sit in a room, not say a word, and know what each other is thinking.....pretty cool.

And, no, Danny........I did not see the little bunny. I am sure I would have been moved by it if I did, though.........no question.

Fish, I think I owe Riley and Owen a new wiffle ball since I smashed it into multiple pieces with my amazing power. I think it was good for those boys to see me go yard at the Fisher house since their Daddy can't quite get it over the fence.
