The End of Another Year

The 2004-2005 school year ends today. A typical May is about to be history with its busy schedule. There have been high points and low points to the year. We have had successes and failures. Overall, it was an incredible year filled with wonderful students and families all working together.

Summer can be a time for renewal. It is a change of pace. I am looking forward to an adjustment to the daily grind. For me it is a time where I can reflect, find areas to improve and to plan. This natural break means I can reflect about work as well as my family and my life.

I know for many of you that a natural summer break does not happen in your job. There still can be time set aside to break your cycle and utilize some positive revaluation time. I encourage you to do what you need to recharge your batteries.

How do you manufacture this time that we all need? What do you do to renew and improve yourself? If you are comfortable, please share your ideas as it might help someone else.

Have a great day!

Let's see...taveling to Nashville is a great summer activity--especially when you haven't come in, oh, SEVEN years.

Becoming a wine drinker has helped immensely...

Honestly, the best thing for me is to simply sit down and shut up. Even if I only have a few minutes. Count the hours you spend watching TV or in your car with the radio on and take some of that time to be quiet. I usually start with a question, but many times God has His own agenda during those quiet moments and He will move in your spirit. Nothing is more refreshing than that.

A good Johannisburg Riesling is nice too...

Congrats on another year behind you. Enjoy the time off. I'm glad you're making a difference in the lives of young people in SW Fort Worth!
