Great Wolf
I am not a water park guy. I do not like to swim. I do not like to go to water parks. BA and the boys love it and I usually send them and I work or do other things. The thought of swimming in the same water with other people is quite challenging for me. Being fair-skinned and constantly battling the threat of a sunburn also adds to my disdain for swimming and water parks.
I have not 100% converted but I did have a positive experience this past weekend. I got past my strangeness and scheduled a surprise for the family. With our anniversary (14 years) last week, I thought it would be fun to celebrate as a family. I booked us a family adventure and we headed to Grapevine to go to The Great Wolf Lodge. We did not tell the boys where we were going, just that we were going somewhere for one night and then come home. When we pulled into the parking lot, many loud cheers were shared.
We checked in and spent two days playing in the indoor water park. It has every thing that you could imagine. They keep the room at a year-round constant 84 degrees. Slides, pools, things to climb, rivers, floats, food and fun, filled the huge indoor area. Our boys loved it and were able to play and have fun like I had never seen.
This is a must stop for families. There are children's activities, good food, nice rooms and fun in the water that is a must.
I am not a water park guy, but I will go back to The Great Wolf Lodge.

I love it! We will put it on our list of must do's. I know the girls would have a blast. I also know what you mean about feeling strange about water parks. The lazy river is the worst. All those kids and the water feels warm. The "rio de pee-pee." And of course I tan about as well as you do, so I understand all that. But the Great Wolf sounda like fun.
