Music of 1988. What was your favorite?

As I was surfing through random blogs I ran across a neat website. At musicoutfitters.com you can type a year into the search window and you will get a list of the top 100 songs from that year. The following is a list from 1988, the year I graduated from high school.

I made the text bold of the songs I liked, and I made the text in italics of the songs I hated. I did nothing to the text if I did not care about the song. I changed my favorite to red.

What a list. The memories. The late 80's was a confusing time for music. I loved a lot of different styles. Anything by INXS was great. A little hip-hop that I could dance aong with was great. Is there a worse song than the one Patric Swayze did in 1988. I hated it then and I still hate it today.

Funky Cold Medina by Tone Loc. How can this be left off the top 100 list? If it were there, I would have it highlighted in red!!

What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?
I gave the list the once over and here is my immediate reaction:
I thought Belinda Carlisle was hot before she got fat so I dug I Get Weak and Heaven is a Place on Earth.
I agree with you about INXS. I remember the first time I ever heard of them was when this hot girl told me she liked them and I acted like I did too. Thumbs up on Devil Inside and Need You Tonight.
You know I love Van Halen, so When It's Love makes my list. Plus, I saw them in '87 and met this really hot girl at the concert. Good times.
Got My Mind Set on You was just breaking through in November of '87 when I went on a ski trip and met some hot ski bunnies. That song will always remind me of that trip.
Do you sense a theme in these comments?
Pour Some Sugar On Me - Do I really need to comment?
U2's Desire was kickin'. No hot girl memory for that one, but I liked it anyway. It still holds up today.
Your two hits, Together Forever and Never Gonna Give You Up were great. I've still never seen you and Rick Astley in the same room.
Even I could dance to Red, Red Wine and I love the name UB40.
Even I could dance like Axl Rose in the Sweet Child O' Mine video. Catchy song.
Now for the two on your list that make me get out the dress blues and call the casket company:
She's Like the Wind and Kokomo.
    Just shoot me.

    Lavender:

Funky Cold Medina was a classic. I remember blasting it in Mabee dorm. It is listed as a 1989 song, that is why it is not on the list.

    Bailey:

Your stories and memories are always intertwined with girls. Thank you for sharing...

Knock off the criticism of INXS. They're solid.

Now, come on, Fish. You KNOW you loved Tiffany and you didn't even make it bold. What's wrong with you??

I'd like to see Lav do the funky cold medina.
